Whose Standard Am I Measuring Myself Against?

Neuroaffirmative Reflection for Doctors

This visual resource invites doctors and healthcare professionals to pause and reflect on the standards they are measuring themselves against.

For neurodivergent people, distress can sometimes come not only from the gap between who we are and who we want to become, but from trying to meet inherited standards shaped by training, workplace culture, neurotypical norms, previous criticism, family expectations or wider systems.

The aim is not to become a better-masked version of yourself. It is to notice which standards genuinely reflect your values, and which “shoulds” may need to be questioned. Small changes in reflection can make a big difference to self-compassion, sustainability and professional wellbeing.
